Alot of times I find myself starting some design and never finishing it because it does not turn out the way I wanted it to or sometimes I just stay with the different look but in the end I’m always unhappy about it. I actually had this problem since school. Art Projects…great idea and image in my head….totally different outcome on the paper somehow the tools to project the image didn’t want to go the same way I did. I don’t know if the trick is to actually not give up and erase and rewind until what’s in your head is on the paper….but I guess I lack the patience for that. Well to cut a long story short I grabbed some of my more wearable, weird stuff and put it in a box for free. It starts out with my version of the tutorial Sweater and Tube Top you can find on the Sites posted in the Day 2 post. The choc dress is just messing around with the Tube a little so nothing fancy but yummy^^. Finally the Floral Tank…it was supposed to become a tunic…I’m quite ok with how the front turned out but I couldn’t make a decent bottom part yet…I hate matching Top and Bottom Layer and would be glad for any advise!

So if anyone is interested in following my progress through crappy outfits grab them for 0L in the pink boxes (bottom shelve) at the .::SodaPOP::. location. Taxi

I spend some time browsing through the sl forum posts about property and land rentals and found someone who offered completely free store spaces to people who do not sell freebie crap. So I send a notecard et violá….

…it’s still pretty empty in there but I’m working on it. Actually I’m spending most of my time on the Xstreet page searching for quality freebies/dollarbies to decorate my store with. So my next post will probably be all about interior design^^ Any suggestion as to where I could find some nice stuff? I’m searching for any kind: lighting; tables; shelves; wall decoration; curtains…

In order to celebrate reaching the first step of a long road to a successful business the Lace Cami in Mountbatten Pink is for sale for only 10L until tomorrow. Regular price is 75L.How does someone determine what an item should cost? I started with checking out pricing in other stores and tried to compare qualities to the things I created. Figuring that if someone paid sum X for great quality and sum Z for lower quality I could give sum Y a try…ok probably not the best kind of advertising not giving myself the X prices lol Well I guess I’ll just have to see how things work out…but I’m begging you please please please buy the Pink Cami so I can save myself from those money trees…think of it as doing something good, donation to save a haunted soul:P

Last but not least a little sneak peek of the new dress I created. It does not have a name yet but probably will end up with something like velvety rose dress^^ On this picture you can also see  the object of my undoing…Friday-FiftyLindenFriday-60L to upload last two dress colors-50L for beautiful !lamb hair that would be unaffordable otherwise->go for the hair! From a business point of view this decision really sucks…

If you checked my blog recently you might have noticed the new link for “Custom Colors”. I came up with the idea because I just could not decide which colors to sell my stuff in. So now the answer is: All of them^^. I’ll keep choosing 4 base colors but beyond that it is your choice. All you need to do is to post a comment including color name or rgb value, product and your sl name and I’ll put it out for sale in my store. It’ll also be updated in the product overview on the custom color page so everybody has an overview about which colors already exist. Best of all? This service is absolutely free for you:)

So what do you think about this? Might not work out because nobody wants to wait for the items? Needs lots of advertising inworld so people check out the custom color page in my blog? Nice because you can also browse products online? I’d be happy for some more pros and cons on this!

BTW if you are wondering if I have already come to riches because I’m wearing a Tres Blah skin I have to admit: Shame on me! I’m only wearing the demo, but with some bangs and long sleeve clothing nobody will ever know lol. I know it’s kinda pathetic but I really adore these skins…

Let me begin with telling you how boring hopping from money tree to money tree is… . By now I made another 109L and uploaded more colors of my Cami which I’ll show you later in this post. I spend alot of time this week thinking about how to present my clothing in this blog: With or without avi? show back and front of all colors? only fronts? close-ups? what kind of background? which fonts? what kind of information should be on the pic? color-schemes and so forth…In the end I decided on this pretty simple look:

Since starting sl I always dreamed of opening my own clothing store. I began with creating photo sourced stuff and looking back on it now it looked just plain horrible. I love handpainted stuff in sl and in my opinion it just fits better into the whole look of the sl world (I just read a nice blog post about this topic a few days ago but sadly cannot find it anymore). I stopped with clothing as soon as I realized nobody was buying my “High Fashion” and relied on my credit card as sole sl income. From time to time I found a new tutorial and tried and failed again and again…I’m by far no perfectionist , actually the only goal I set for my stuff is that I must like to wear it in sl. This Cami is the first thing that does live up to this standard. It’s by far not perfect and it’s pretty basic but I like it anyhow and I sincerly hope you will, too.

I haven’t been hunting for alot of clothing lately but stopped by at !Ohmai since they have some 0L gifts of their stuff in white. I really think that this is a great idea and wanted to say thanks this way:) Furthermore I found myself a really nicely done cord pant on xlstreet for 0L from PROZAK.

Well I guess that’s it for today. Probably should be thinking about setting up an xstreet box somewhere to find out if anyone is actually interested in my stuff…does anyone now a good place to rent just one prim?

I know it’s been done before but after having been in SL for about two years I wanted a new challenge and decided to create a new SL account. My ultimate goal is to open my own clothing store called ‘Smoochcake’ but without using my Payment Info or buying Linden $.

Day 1

Oh look a newbie…

Selecting my first Avi on the SecondLife Homepage I was glad to find out that the user has some more choices now then when I first started out. I chose the clubgoer Female and was later on positively surprised that it was designed by one of my favorite creators Nylon Pinkney.

Finding my new self…

My first stop for the outer self was the Vive9 warehouse their amazing freebie skins have been blogged a gazillion times before and I guess that is why it was the first store to come into my mind when looking for a skin. My choice fell on Maya [light] and after a long while of fiddling with my shape I had a face and body I was content with. As for the clothes: I started out at the Gnubie Store but sadly realized that  a lot of the stuff I liked actually were dollarbies. With my old account I never cared but now I really came to dislike them (same goes for 1L Demos). Luckily enough I was able to pick up some great free hairstyles at TRUTH. Something really important to me since I’m the total hair addict and it was pretty difficult not to go and just buy some Linden when the new Maitreya styles were released…

Hey big spender…

Since in order to start a business in SL you need money I started hunting down camping sites (so far rather unsuccessfully because I’m not willing to camp 30 min for 1L) and roaming around for money trees until a google search brought me to the Wolfhaven Productions site where you find a list of money trees around SL. My goal for the day was to have enough Linden to upload my first Cami (Top + Bottom Layer) and buy myself a pair of pants at the Gnubie Store.
